Ingredients:
2 salmon fillets
3 tbsp olive oil (divided)
all-purpose (AP) seasoning
1/2 cup orange juice (fresh squeezed preferred)
2 – 4 tbsp honey
2 -3 tbsp soy sauce
Instructions:
Prepare the Salmon – Rinse and pat dry the salmon fillets. Coat with 1 tbsp of olive oil and rub in AP seasoning evenly on both sides.
Sear the Salmon – Preheat a skillet over medium-high heat and add 2 tbsp of olive oil. Place the salmon fillets skin-side down and cook for 4-5 minutes per side, depending on the thickness. Remove salmon from the skillet and set aside.
Make the Glaze – Discard excess oil from the pan and lower the heat. Pour in the orange juice and let it reduce for about 3 minutes, stirring consistently with a spatula.
Add Sweetness – Stir in the honey and continue mixing for another 3 minutes until the sauce begins to thicken.
Enhance the Flavor – Add the soy sauce, stirring frequently, and let the sauce simmer until it thickens slightly.
Coat the Salmon – Return the salmon fillets to the pan, spooning the glaze over them as they simmer on low heat. Let them soak in the sauce for about 2 minutes.7️⃣ Serve & Enjoy – Plate the salmon, drizzle with extra glaze, and serve with your favorite side dish.
Tips:
➡️ Cook Time make sure you adjust based on thickness and type of salmon. Wild Caught cooks faster and can be tougher, Farm Raised is more flaky and can cook slower. ➡️ Shop at ethnic markets for better pricing on fresh seafood.
